What do I need to use Kling Motion Control?
One character image and one motion reference video. The image supplies the character appearance; the video guides the movement. A text prompt is optional. Sign in to upload your reference video.
Your character. A movement worth keeping.
Transfer motion from a video with V3 or 2.6.
Image: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 4MB, at least 300px per side. Video: MP4 or MOV, up to 50MB, 720–2160px and 24–60 fps. 3–10 seconds.
These results use the same character frame and three-second walking reference. Each clip was generated with the version shown. Compare the movement and clothing yourself; these examples do not establish a general quality ranking.
Keep the adult character's facial features and emerald outfit consistent. Follow the gentle walking motion in the reference video, with natural fabric movement and stable studio lighting.
Recreate fills the prompt and version. Add your own image and motion video, then review the quote before generating.
Choose a clear image of one subject. Keep the face, body and clothing visible, with enough space around the parts that need to move. Match the framing to your reference: a full-body action benefits from a full-body image.
Use a continuous clip with an easy-to-follow action. A visible silhouette, steady framing and limited occlusion make the reference easier to interpret. Fast cuts, hidden limbs or several competing subjects can make the result less predictable.
If you want to describe movement without supplying a reference video, try Kling 3.0 Turbo. For text-driven scenes with native audio and shot controls, explore Kling 3.0.
Start with V3, or choose 2.6 for its lower per-second credit cost. The version selector changes the model and quote while keeping compatible inputs. Resolution and reference length both affect the final cost.
| Version | 720p | 1080p |
|---|---|---|
| V3 · default | 103 credits | 138 credits |
| 2.6 | 58 credits | 92 credits |

Upload the character image and motion video. Preview them, remove a wrong file, or replace it before continuing. Use media you own or have permission to use.
Select V3 or 2.6, resolution and character orientation. Keep the reference sound if it belongs in the final clip. Add a short prompt for details you want to preserve.
Check the displayed credit total, then generate once. Follow progress in the conversation and find the finished video in My Assets.
Motion Control already has an action to follow. Use the optional prompt to clarify appearance, setting or details that should remain consistent. Avoid asking for an unrelated action that contradicts the video.
A useful starting point is: “Keep the character’s clothing and facial features consistent. Follow the reference movement with natural body motion and maintain the original setting.” Adapt it to your own subject and clip.
Review hands, face and body alignment throughout the result, especially during turns or occlusions. A successful upload does not guarantee a perfect transfer. Simplifying the reference is often more useful than adding a longer prompt.

V3 is the default. You can switch to 2.6 in the same editor. Both versions use their own credit rates. Switching between them keeps compatible inputs and settings.
Choose image orientation for a 3–10 second reference, or video orientation for 3–30 seconds. The uploaded video is checked on the server, and its duration determines the quote. You cannot set a separate output duration.
From image uses the character orientation in your still image; From video follows the orientation in your motion reference. Choose sources with compatible framing and a clearly visible subject.
Yes. Keep original sound preserves the reference video’s audio. Turn it off for a silent result. This control does not generate a new voice or soundtrack.
V3 costs 20.58 credits per second at 720p and 27.42 at 1080p. Version 2.6 costs 11.42 and 18.28 respectively. The total is rounded up once. A 5-second V3 video costs 103 or 138 credits; the same length in 2.6 costs 58 or 92. Review the quote before generating. Unlimited benefits do not apply.
Use a JPG, PNG or WebP character image up to 4MB, at least 300 pixels on each side, with an aspect ratio between 2:5 and 5:2. Reference videos must be MP4 or MOV, up to 50MB, 720–2160 pixels on each side, and 24–60 fps. These are this site’s upload limits.
Follow progress in the generation conversation. Completed videos are also available in My Assets for playback and download. Starting a new generation requires its own credit check.
